How the process works
Mechanical engraving provides another process option when the part, material or required feature favors a cutting tool over a laser.
Tool access, cutter geometry and fixturing determine achievable detail. Recessed marks can be reviewed for optional color fill.
Material & finish considerations
Metal components and plates: include the alloy, hardness and finished condition so tooling and workholding can be considered.
Plastics and other machinable substrates: provide the material designation and thickness, including any laminate layers.
Shaped parts: supply dimensions and the accessible marking surface. Clamping and nearby features can restrict tool access.
