Start with the drawing authority
Titanium is among the metals considered for laser processing, but a material category does not authorize a mark on every component. Provide the alloy, condition and drawing notes. The design authority should identify permitted locations and any limits on surface modification. Avoid treating a photograph of another titanium part as a process approval.
Consider the service requirements
A component may have functional, cosmetic or cleanliness requirements that affect where and how it can be marked. State them directly rather than expecting the marking supplier to infer them from the industry name. If a performance test or process qualification is required, define responsibility and acceptance before samples are made.
Document the approved configuration
Record the part revision, finish, mark content and inspection plan together. If a trial is accepted only for a specific configuration, do not assume it covers a later geometry or material change. For a repeat order, reference the previous approval and call out what has changed. This gives the supplier a clear basis for deciding whether the old setup still applies.
